Rick Nelson is owner and operator of Annapolis Sailing School, the home of Brendan Sailing’s Annapolis camp. When not working at the sailing school, he lives in New York City where he is successful in the financial industry. He is a passionate sailor, and when time permits, he loves to get out and enjoy the water.
Raised in Annapolis, he is married to his high school sweetheart Jenni. His love of sailing and his wife’s love of the school is what led to its purchase in 2014.
Earlier this summer the Nelson’s celebrated Annapolis Sailing School’s 60th anniversary by hosting a Fourth of July event for the community. There, with 175 people in attendance including the Mayor, they honored another Brendan Sailing board member Rick Franke with the Marine & Mentor award for his long-time sailing advocacy and board involvement. Along with the award, they surprised Brendan Sailing with a $2,500 donation check dedicated to providing scholarships to campers in need. We are so thankful for Annapolis Sailing School and appreciate everything Rick has done since joining the Brendan Sailing Board of Directors.
